Iruppu Falls Brahmagiri Range
The Iruppu Falls are located in the Brahmagiri Range in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, India.
Originating from the Brahmagiri Range, the river Lakshmana Theertha plungess down from a height of 170 ft. forming the Iruppu Water falls. It creates a ceaseless thunder amidst the silence of the thick wood in two stages. Iruppu fall is located 50kms from the Nagarahole National Park and about 50kms from Madikeri, about 300kms for Bangalore.
I visited twice this place in first week of May 2017 and August 2015. Nice place, first you will have feeling of entering into forest(lot of buzz sound) and then you may be scare to see the boards of careful for Tiger, Elephant and Snakes. Afterwords what you see is amazing iruppu falls. The distance from entrance ( car parking ) to falls is about one km which you have to walk through . The way towards the waterfall is beautiful. You will see an excellent stream flowing with neat and clear water on the way. The wood logs and stones on the stream make it even more beautiful. Water is too cold as it is natural water flowing from the jungle.
Good point is that Dressing/ Changing rooms available for ladies so all can enjoy the natural shower.
Provisions (steel floor) to stand under waterfalls are really good and strong enough
Iruppu offers the best trekking as well as touring destination. One can spend 2-3 hours in overall nice place for family buddy. If you are planing for nagarhole national park then must come to this fall as its near to it.
